#WAYS TO INSTALL SPICEWORKS INSTALL#
To sum it up, this addin now has a basic mode for users to submit tickets quickly, and some install parameters can be automated. There is a little more detail on the GitHub release page that will describe the specifics. Msiexec /i SpiceworksOutlookAddIn-v1.0.3.msi /qn HELPDESKEMAIL= INSTALLTYPE=2 *INSTALLTYPE (1 = Admin, 2 = User, 3 = All) *HELPDESKEMAIL (email address Spiceworks uses for tickets) You can now perform a completely silent install from the command line or your deployment tool of choice, no need to push out a registry key to all users separately. Admin has the same as described originally, User has only the "New Ticket" button (since users don't need to see all of the other stuff), and All has, well, everything!ĮDIT 2: I've fixed the silent install functionality. There are also 3 install types: Admin, User, All. As requested, there is now a "New Ticket" option which simply opens up a new message pre-addressed to the helpdesk system. Any feedback is much appreciated.ĮDIT: I just wasted my evening adding new features, lol. Oh yea, this add-in can perform actions on multiple tickets at a time, too!
#WAYS TO INSTALL SPICEWORKS CODE#
I also dont recommend using aliases, it makes your code hard to read by someone else. You could also combine your where-objects into a single using -and / -or. There are also options to automatically close the message once an action is performed and to disable various confirmation prompts. Side comment, Im not sure why youre setting an unlimited resultsize when youre only using 1. You can also add email addresses for other helpdesk employees, allowing you to assign tickets to those people on-demand. Make sure you go into the Settings screen and specify at least the email address for Spiceworks. Sign-in to your Remote Access Plus cloud account and start using Remote Access Plus features from the Spiceworks tickets. Log-in to your Spiceworks help desk page and click on the Remote Access Plus option against any ticket and select Server Settings option. With this add-in, when you receive an email from a user that should have gone to Spiceworks, just click the "Create Ticket" button and the message will be forwarded to the helpdesk email account with a "#created by" tag specifying the original sender of the message. Download and install the Remote Access Plus plug-in from spiceworks app center. My inspiration for creating this was the constant barrage of emails I receive from users who are not following proper procedure for IT support (aka emailing me directly rather than the helpdesk email account). Create a new ticket by forwarding an email (ticket created as original sender). This add-in allows you to perform various ticket commands quickly from within Outlook.
I just released v1.0.0 v1.0.1 v1.0.2 v1.0.3 v1.0.4 of my Spiceworks Outlook Add-In (download from my GitHub, installer in the "Releases" section).
